چکیده
Abstract The need to successfully navigate in the absence of GNSS has grown recent years. In particular, light aircraft such as UAVs are growing popularity for a variety applications vulnerable GPS denial. research presented here develops GPS-denied navigation scheme employing images formed from synthetic aperture radar system. Past explored utility telemetry systems. This advances previous work by exploiting obtain range and cross-range position measurements. Images using Range-Doppler Algorithm, an efficient image formation algorithm ideal sometimes limited processing packages available aircraft. An inertial system is implemented both real simulated aid estimating aircraft’s state environment. results show that feasible with converging bounded estimation errors.

in this paper, the range doppler algorithm (rda) for synthetic aperture radar moving on a ballistic trajectory is presented. the 3-dimension acceleration and non-uniform trajectory cause decreases in efficiency of conventional imaging algorithms. in this paper, the analytical expression for the 2-d signal spectrum for ballistic trajectory using taylor series expansion and series reversion is de...
متن کاملSensor-Aided Navigation in GPS-Denied Environments
In this work we propose a novel approach to navigate users in GPS-denied environments with the help of sensors. The basic idea is to deploy wireless sensors over the field of interest and use the change of signal strength from multiple sensors to navigate users to the destination. To deal with RSS irregularity in a practical environment, an adaptive scheme is proposed to decide the scheme param...
متن کاملNavigation in GPS Denied
This paper focuses on the latest technology trends for navigating in difficult urban, indoor, and underground environments where typical Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers do not function. The latest alternative navigation (Alt-Nav) technologies based on electro-optical techniques are described. These techniques extract features from electro-optical images (for example, a point feature a...
متن کاملFeasibility of Using Synthetic Aperture Radar to Aid UAV Navigation
This study explores the potential of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) to aid Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) navigation when Inertial Navigation System (INS) measurements are not accurate enough to eliminate drifts from a planned trajectory. This problem can affect medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) UAV class, which permits heavy and wide payloads (as required by SAR) and flights for thousands o...
